Metal Machinability Chart

A metal machinability chart displays the relative machinability of different metals or alloys based on specific values or ratings assigned to each material. These values represent various factors related to machining, such as cutting tool wear, chip formation, surface finish, cutting forces, and overall ease of machining.

Higher values indicate greater machinability, suggesting that the metal is easier to machine, while lower values indicate lower machinability, implying that the metal is more challenging to machine. By referring to the chart, individuals can assess the performance characteristics of metals, compare them, and make informed decisions regarding material selection and machining process optimization.
