Working with Quickparts
Technical FAQs
QuickQuote® streamlines the manufacturing quote process by analyzing your 3D CAD data (based on volume and geometry), then produces an instant quote in the process and quantities you have specified. For anyone with questions or issues regarding the platform, review the frequently asked questions gathered below or contact us for more information.
Account Management
Registering for a Quickparts account is quick and easy. Simply click the “Sign In” or “Upload a Design” link from the navigation menu on this page. You can be quoting and buying custom parts in as little as 2 minutes.

The Quoting Process
An “instant quote” is exactly what it sounds like. A customer can get an instant quote immediately through Quickparts’ QuickQuote® tool.
Instant quotes apply only to 3D printing projects. QuickQuotes go straight to a Project Manager (PM) after the customer accepts the quote, helping shorten the project’s timeline. The PM conducts an initial file review to check whether there’s anything that may need adjustment to help obtain the best quality print. After a secondary file review, customers receive a standard lead time for the manufacturing process they selected. The PM then sends the customer a confirmation with an expected ship date. This is typically a fast, smooth process.
However, instant quotes may not always be 100% accurate. The project may experience a delay and could have additional costs in certain circumstances, like determining the finish level or whether a material is on hold/ordered/in-house.
The QuickQuote system does have a few limitations, such as higher quantity orders or requests for first articles. If you need a greater quantity than the system currently allows or have any sort of special request, please reach out to a sales representative! They will help you obtain the most accurate quote possible and may even be able to help you get price breaks.
If you are familiar with 3D printing and know what you’re ordering, run it through the QuickQuote® system! But don’t hesitate to reach out to our sales team with questions.
A “manual quote” is necessary for certain manufacturing processes or when a project is more complex. To get this type of quote, the customer will need to provide more information about their project, which will be used to generate a quote.
It’s important to know exactly what you’re looking for to help keep the quoting process efficient. What are the goals for this part and its end use? We can help you determine how to best achieve your project’s goals.
For example, if the product must be heated, the sales manager should be aware of this so we can quote high-temperature materials and production methods that are best for them. We provide Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for materials to show the specifications for each.
The end use of the part should be considered before anything else. What type of finish is necessary? If it’s a showpiece, then clearly a high-quality visual finish would be required. However, if the part is only used for testing and no one will see it, maybe the finish isn’t as significant.
QuickQuote®
QuickQuote® is the geometric analysis and instant quoting engine behind Quickparts. QuickQuote® was developed by a team of manufacturing experts and software development professionals. Its deployment is the commercialization of many years of development on the complex projects of geometric analysis, manufacturing process simulation, and automatic quotation creation.
QuickQuote® takes your uploaded 3D CAD files, analyzes them, and then produces a binding customized quotation instantly for the manufacture of your parts in the process and quantity you specify. The power is truly in the hands of the buyer, as you can do unlimited “what-if” scenarios to see how your pricing changes.
- Login to QuickQuote® using your email and password.
- Upload your 3D CAD (STL) files.
- Select the manufacturing process, quantity, material, and lead time.
- QuickQuote will present a custom binding quotation for the manufacture of your parts.
You can then buy your parts, save your project to start in the future, print or e-mail your quote for signoff, or discard your quotation entirely.
In the quoting process, we have a notes/special instructions area where any special requests can be made. Just enter in what your needs are; be very specific. Your project manager is an experienced engineer and will know what you are talking about.
Once a project is started, your project manager will also contact you directly by phone and your special requests can be communicated at that time.
Flexible Lead Time Options provide you with a range of production and delivery times for your SLA, SLS, DLP, or CNC machined parts. You can base these options on your specific project requirements. Prices will adjust on your instant quotes dependent upon the option you have selected.
Lead time options available are based on process selected, number of parts needed, and the size of the part.
SLA Lead Time Options.
Same day and next day options are for less than 5 quantities of parts. Same day orders processed after 11am EST will be processed the next day.
SLS and DLP lead time options.
Next day options are for less than 5 quantities of parts.
CNC Lead Time Options
2-day lead times are limited to 5 or less parts.
If a part is too large for next day for Quickparts to reach a certain lead time you will be notified with a yellow box as shown below. The part size limitations vary by process.
Our flexible lead time options are available through QuickQuote, the Quickparts customer portal:

Quote price will auto adjust based on the lead time selected underneath the lead time options.
Our lead times are predicated upon our ability to deliver your parts for your project. If your part is complex, or you require a large volume of parts with specific finishes, we may not be able to deliver in your desired time frames. It may be possible that we can get close to your requirements, but this may require discussions with our technical experts. Our instant quoting system will automatically flag up any issues and direct you to a relevant expert.
Certainly! If you have flexibility in your project’s timeline, you can choose a longer lead time to potentially reduce production costs. However, your adjustment will require the intervention of a technical expert.
If your project specifications change, simply update the information in your account, and the system will recalculate the costs accordingly. Please note that significant changes may affect the lead time estimate. If you have already accepted the quote, you will need to speak with one of our technical professionals on the project management team. Please call (206) 203-1430
To edit a quote please follow the following steps.
