“What really struck us about Quickparts was that we could upload our CAD data to their website and generate a price right there on-the-fly,” says Scott Clark, manufacturing support manager at Phifer. “So literally, in less than a minute, you’ve got a price back on how much it will cost whether you make one or 10,000.”

PhiferWire Products, Inc., the world’s largest producer of fiberglass and aluminum insect screening products, was interested in expanding its product line into a new category with the PhiferReader, the Ultimate Reading Companion – portable plastic book stand. Not having much experience with plastic parts, PhiferWire turned to Quickparts to assist with their product development process.

Process

Design engineers at Quickparts worked hands-on with PhiferWire from the initial CAD design phase to ensure the PhiferReader could be prototyped and the Injection Mold Tooling and Parts process would be as smooth and cost efficient as possible.

“What really struck us about Quickparts service was that we could upload our CAD data to their website and generate a price right there on-the-fly,” says Scott Clark, manufacturing support manager at Phifer. “So literally, in less than a minute, you’ve got a price back on how much it will cost whether you make one or 10,000.” (Desktop Eng. Accomplishment

Using this service as their single source for 3D printed rapid Prototypes to QuickTurn Plastic Injection Molding, PhiferWire was able to achieve tremendous cost and time savings working with the dedicated Project Management Team at Quickparts.

With a new QVC marketing agreement in place, it’s only a matter of time before you can have your very own reading companion.
